A win and a loss (*Updated)

The B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team won 89-50 tonight over Pine River-Backus in a home game. B-B-E led 57-24 at halftime and was never in trouble in the second half. The Tigers fall to 7-8 overall, and they are 4-2 in the Northland Conference. In tonight's game, junior Kaden Pieper scored his 1,000th point of his stellar career.

At Holdingford, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team lost 75-58. The Huskers led 37-23 at halftime and improved to 4-3 in the Central Minnesota Conference and 9-6 overall. The Jaguars are 11-5 overall and 5-2 (third) in the CMC. Eden Valley-Watkins earned a big upset win over first-place Kimball Area tonight to put Royalton into a virtual tie with the Cubs. Even with tonight's loss, the Jaguars are just one game out of first place. However, they have basically no room for error the rest of the way. Up next is a huge, HUGE game with Eden Valley-Watkins on Thursday, January 27. That game will go a long ways towards whether or not the Jaguars have a shot at repeating as CMC champions.
