Baseball snaps two-game skid

With sophomore Luke Illies earning the complete-game win, the B-B-E Jaguars baseball team defeated Browerville 4-2 in their second game of the Max Bats wood bat invitational in Elrosa this afternoon. The Tigers are one of the top teams in Section 6A (ranked No. 2 in 6A-North), so this was a big win for the Jaguars, who had 9 hits compared to 5 for the visitors. Illies had four strikeouts with one walk. The Jaguars improve to 5-4 overall.

Earlier today, the B-B-E Jaguars fastpitch team lost both games of a doubleheader at Central Minnesota Conference-leading Kimball Area. Brooklyn Fischer hit a home run, but that's all I've got right now from those games.

Also, remember that tomorrow the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team travels to neighboring rival Meire Grove for a Mother's Day contest. First pitch for the Stearns County League North game is at 1:30 p.m.
