Pirouettes terrific at Minnewaska, bring back hardware (VIDEO added*)
It was an exciting awards ceremony tonight at Minnewaska Area, as the B-B-E/Paynesville Pirouettes dance team hauled in a second-place trophy in the JV Kick division. In first place was Montevideo, while the Pirouettes defeated four other teams: Sauk Centre, Minnewaska Area, Foley and Alexandria.

Before dropping back into high school sports coverage, I have some college sports news to post. Exciting! The SCSU Huskies volleyball team is heading to the NCAA Sweet 16! The Huskies defeated Concordia-St. Paul tonight by a 3-1 score in the NCAA D-II Round of 32 at Halenbeck Hall. B-B-E Class of 2022 graduate Emily Kern is a junior defensive specialist on the team. They compete in the NCAA Central Region championship tomorrow at Halenbeck Hall.
Game scores for SCSU were 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-20. The Huskies are 29-2 overall.
*Saturday update: the girls basketball team defeated Brandon-Evansville 59-50 today to even their record at 2-2 overall. A new blog post will be added much later tonight. This has been an extremely busy day with Brooten Santa Day - which was wildly successful!!!
