Remember the good times (VIDEO)

From left: Taiton Lindner, Justin Savage, Adal Gomez, Jesus Iracheta. They were 4 of the 5 Sno-Daze king candidates at B-B-E high school gathered at the theater stage for crowning on February 11, 2020. In back, classmate Brooke Deters did the crowning, and she landed with Casey Stegeman, who was to the left of Jesus and is not pictured.

I remember when Austin Young died in 2017, my hands were numb for weeks. My ears kept ringing. I don't know what type of physiological effect it was, but it could be summed up in one word: grief.

We're living through a double whammy right now. The grief of two tragedies can intersect. While we wait for more information, let's remember the good times. We can continue waiting. Let families grieve. Pray for them...moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, neighbors, clergy...everyone close to those we have lost. Continue supporting B-B-E! As I've said before, we have over 600 students in the K-12 system who need our support. Many of them are grieving, and they need our support now more than ever.

Here's a 2-minute clip featuring the Sno-Daze coronation crowning on February 11, 2020:

I regret not being able to find more video from the 2020 Sno-Daze coronation. That clipped video showing just the crowning is all I could find in my archives.

The visitation for Justin Savage, B-B-E Class of 2020, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday, October 10 at the funeral home in Belgrade.

In sports tonight...
The volleyball team is at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg. The varsity match is on Smooth Magic 107.1 FM of Glenwood, but their online stream is down.

In a home game, the JV football team defeated Benson 16-14 after taking a 16-0 lead into halftime. The win completed an outstanding 5-1 season for that squad. Their lone loss was in a shootout to U/SA by a 40-30 score.

The Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper's online community calendar is slowly getting updated. You can see that by clicking here: https://shorturl.at/9UZhg.

Update: the volleyball team swept K-M-S tonight to improve to 17-6 overall. Game scores were 25-16, 25-19, 25-18. They have a huge match, perhaps the biggest of the regular season, this Thursday, October 9 in Royalton. It is all but a sure bet that the winner of Thursday's match will win the conference title alone. The Royals are aiming for their first conference title since they finished in a three-way tie for first place in 2019 with Maple Lake and our Jaguars.

A more complete blog post from today's action will be added on Tuesday morning. Good night.
