Jaguars Wrestling -- Fall to Parkers Prairie and Sauk Centre at Triangular -- Playoffs Start Next Week

The young Jaguars wrestling team traveled to Parkers Prairie Thursday night to face the host Panthers as well as Sauk Centre in a triangular, their first action after the recent MSHSL-mandated 8-day layoff. They lost both duals, although the Parkers match was close and could have gone either way with a difference in two individual matches.

Austin Kampsen and Brett Landwehr led the team by going 2-0 in their matches.

Next week on Tuesday (Feb 13) the team begins Section 5A playoffs with a "pigtail" match against Meadow Creek Christian/Rivers Academy at 6:00. These matches are held between the teams seeded 7th through 10th in the 10-team section. The dual will be held at the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School. If the Jaguars win their opening match, they would advance to the quarterfinal round on the same night in the same location to face number-two seeded Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted at 7:30.

At 5:30 tonight at the High school, the Jaguars are set to begin their quadrangular beginning with a dual against Eden Valley-Watkins. Trinity of River Ridge Bloomington and Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City are the other two teams that will participate.
1st match: BBE vs EV-W & ACGC vs Trinity
2nd match: BBE vs ACGC & EV-W vs Trinity
3rd match: BBE vs Trinity & ACGC vs EV-W
