Jaguars Basketball -- Close First Half Leads to 73-54 Loss at Holdingford

The Jaguars basketball team traveled to Holdingford tonight to avenge a loss to the Huskers from early January. After falling behind 12-5 early on, they came back to force eight lead-changes in the final eight minutes of the first half. After being down 31-27 at halftime, the Jaguars were shelled by simply unbelievable shooting from Huskers senior guard Lee Maciej, who went 7-of-10 from behind the arc and finished with 31 points on the night. He entered the game with a 12.8 ppg average.

The Jaguars fell behind by 18 points at one point of the second half, and then cut the lead down to 62-51 with under three minutes left. The Huskers poured it on at the end for the game's 19-point final margin.

The Jaguars have little time for rest as they are set to entertain the 13-4 Rockford Rockets tomorrow (Sat Feb 3), with B-squad at 4:30 and Varsity at 6:00 at the B-B-E High School.

Results from the other two Central Minnesota Conference games tonight...
Eden Valley-Watkins 63, Kimball Area 45
Maple Lake 67, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 50
