Jaguars Wrestling Hosts Triangular at High School, 47-17 Win over LQPV... Jaguars Girls Basketball Falls at Eden Valley-Watkins in CMC Action 68-39

The Jaguars wrestling team hosted Lac qui Parle Valley and Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg tonight in a triangular. LQPV jumped out 17-0 in the first dual against the Jaguars before the home team won two matches at the 130 & 135 classes. The Jaguars ran the table through the final weights, scoring 47 unanswered points in the process, to pull ahead and win 47-17. Against K-M-S, they did not far as well but fought hard in a 44-21 loss to the state-ranked Fighting Saints.

In girls basketball action, the C- and B-squads won for B-B-E against the Eagles. The B-squad score was 39-25. The C-squad bolted out to a 20-4 lead at the Watkins school, and held on to win.

Early, the Eagles lead the varsity game 10-2 with four minutes gone in the first half. The #7-ranked (Class AA) Eagles are 4-0 in the Central Minnesota Conference, the lone unbeaten team in the league.

The halftime score was 38-14, Jaguars trailing. The Eagles banked in a 3-point shot at the buzzer that they did not need.

The Jaguars played tough the entire game but had a tough time with the Eagles' stifling pressure on all ends of the floor. In the final minutes both teams played their full benches with EV-W moving to 5-0 in the CMC.

On Saturday the Jaguars wrestling team is at the Paynesville Tournament, which runs from 11:00am until about 8:00 in the evening. The Jaguars girls danceline is at the NL-S Invitational, and they will perform at about 2:00.
