Preview of Tuesday night's Jaguars varsity sports events

The Osakis girls basketball team comes to town for a game against the Jaguars for a non-conference game. The Silverstreaks are 12-5 overall and 9-0 in the Prairie Conference, in which they have clinced at least a share of the title over second-place teams Royalton and Browerville.

Osakis resides in Sub-Section 6AA-West for the playoffs, so it will be an important game to win for the Jaguars, who are still stinging from last week's losses to A-C-GC and HL-W-W.

The Silverstreaks' most recent loss was by a 51-43 margin to Minnewaska Area, a team that is currently leading the West Central South Conference and is also in Sub-Section 6AA-West. They have one common opponent with the Jaguars, that being Pierz, whom Osakis defeated 61-46 on January 20th in Osakis.

Tuesday night's home game for the Jaguars girls basketball team against Osakis will be aired on Glenwood's "Smooth Magic 107" at 107.1 on your FM dial. If you're unable to pick that up on the radio, you can tune in online at their website= Smooth Magic 107

The Jaguars boys basketball team travels to Maple Lake on Tuesday night. The Maple Lake Irish is 3-11 overall, with only one win thus far in the Central Minnesota Conference (37-33 over Kimball)... but make no mistake, the Jaguars will have to play a good game to pick up a road win in the CMC, regardless of their opponent's record.

The Jaguars wrestling team travels to Murdock for a non-conference Tri against the K-M-S Fighting Saints and Class AA Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd. The meet begins at 5:00 with the Jaguars facing off with LqPV/D-B. K-M-S most recently won the Camden Conference tournament this past Saturday, hosted at their own high school in Kerkhoven. Runner-up was Minneota, who is the 2nd-ranked team in Class A (K-M-S is rated #1.)
