Thursday/Friday night activities

First off, I want to take a moment to congratulate the B-B-E Fine Arts program, as their one-act play "The Devil in Sherman Marsh" by Don Zolidis earned a sub-section runner-up trophy last weekend. They will perform at the Section 5A meet this Saturday (Feb 7) at Sauk Centre. They perform at 8:45am. This is the first time in B-B-E history that the one-act play has earned a sub-section trophy.

On Thursday night, the Jaguars wrestling team hosts Minnewaska Area in a 7:30 dual match. The event will be covered by Glenwood's "Smooth Magic 107" (107.1 FM) and sports broadcaster Dave McClurg. You can find this online as well at Smooth Magic 107.

The Jaguars girls basketball team hosts Holdingford on Thursday night in a CMC matchup. They will be fighting to overcome a recent shooting slump that's led to losses in 3 of their past 4 games. The Huskers (3-5 CMC, 6-7 overall) will be tough, no doubt, even though they got hammered 78-42 by the Jaguars on January 13. They beat Maple Lake 76-46 on January 30.

On Friday night, the Jaguars boys basketball team travels south of Howard Lake to the new Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted high school. They will face the second-place Lakers in a big Central Minnesota Conference clash. The game will be aired on "The Train" 106.5 FM out of the Norway Lake-Sunburg area. Bill Dean and Don Leukam will provide the play-by-play and game analysis.
