Jaguars Baseball loses a 5-0 first-inning lead in a 7-6 season-opening loss to Eden Valley-Watkins ... Fastpitch drubs EV-W 11-3

The Jaguars baseball team took a hard loss on the diamond in their season opener on Tuesday afternoon in Regal. After going up 5-0 in the first inning, the Eagles clawed back into the game, ultimately winning with a four-run seventh inning rally.

The baseball team continues CMC action on Thursday at Holdingford with a 4:30 game.

The Jaguars fastpitch team got off to a good start to their 2009 Central Minnesota Conference schedule, when they picked up an 11-3 win at Eden Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

Fastpitch will host Holdingford at 4:30 on Thursday.

Other action for the Jaguars on Thursday: the Track and Field teams are at Paynesville for a 4:30 meet. The boys golf team is at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted for a 4:15 meet. The Junior High baseball teams (7th/8th grade) hosts Melrose at 4:15 at the High School sports complex diamonds.

Action on Friday/Saturday: The Fastpitch team travels to Browerville for a non-conference game against the Tigers at 4:30 on Friday. It is also a Section 5A game, so a win will be key for the Jaguars to stay near the top of the sub-section rankings. Also, the Junior High baseball teams host Eden Valley-Watkins at 4:15 on Friday at the high school diamonds.

On Saturday, the boys golf team is at Minnewaska for a 9:00am meet. The girls golf team travels to Benson for a 9:00am meet the same day.
