Elrosa Saints opens Stearns County League play on Sunday (May 3) at New Munich - First pitch is at 1:30

The Saints open the season with a battle against Stearns County League North rival New Munich at the Silverstreaks' diamond on Sunday. The game is at 1:30.

The Saints had a rare below-.500 season in Stearns County League action in 2008, finishing 5-8 before opening up division playoffs against Spring Hill. The Saints made it a full three-game series against the 2007 Region champion Chargers, ultimately falling 7-3 at the Cold Spring diamond to end their season.

New Munich, meanwhile, went 12-1 against the league, returning to the top of the pack, where they have been for most of the past 15+ seasons in Stearns County amateur baseball action.

Around the Stearns County League this weekend...
Spring Hill travels to Richmond, Meire Grove travels to neighboring rival Greenwald, St.Martin is at Lake Henry, while Farming travels to Roscoe. All games are at 1:30 for Sunday.

The Saints host Meire Grove next Sunday, May 10, at 1:30 for the home opener at the immaculate Saints Field.
