Fall Prep action adds another round of sports, volleyball opens for a handful of area schools

In a late result from Thursday's Minnewaska Quad, the host Lakers went 3-0 against its competition, including a 7-0 sweep over the Jaguars girls tennis team. No other results were available.

Match scores for Minnewaska were as follows: Minnewaska 5, Parkers Prairie 2 - Minnewaska 7, B-B-E 0 - Minnewaska 6, Montevideo 1.

In college-related news, the Ridgewater Warriors women's volleyball team went 2-0 to start its own 8-team round-robin tournament in Willmar on Friday night. Former B-B-E standout Emily Roelike outside hitter went 11-of-12 on attacks with 5 kills, 4-of-5 from the service line, along with six digs to aid her team's effort.

In amateur baseball news, unless you've been under a rock for the past week, it's no secret by now that the Elrosa Saints are in Round Two of the state tournament today! They face Cannon Falls at 1:30 today in Gaylord. At 11am, St.Martin takes on Hampton. Both games feature Stearns County League teams versus Classic Cannon Valley team leagues.
