A couple volleyball notes

The Jaguars Volleyball team (12-2) travels the short trip south to New London-Spicer (9-0) on Monday night to face the state-ranked Class AA Wildcats in non-conference action.

In 2008, two much-anticipated meetings between the two teams both went in favor of the Jaguars, first a 3-1 win at home for the Blue and Silver, and then a convincing 2-0 sweep in the Willmar Invitational championship match. Following the win in Willmar, everyone was pretty much in a awe of the efficiency and speed that the Jaguars shredded the Wildcats - a point that this year's NL-S team most certainly won't forget.

I'd still give the edge to the Jaguars, though they'll need to play a flawless game to upset the undefeated Wildcats.

In college news, Emily Roelike received "Hitter of the Week" honors in the Minnesota Community Athletic Conference-South division a week ago. The freshmen outside hitter averaged 2.9 kills and 2.3 digs per game. They went 5-0 that week and are now 12-1 overall and 5-0 in the MCAC.
