New London-Spicer edges Sauk Centre in West Central North division volleyball clash

In a battle of conference unbeatens, visiting New London-Spicer swept Sauk Centre on Tuesday night to take over sole possession of first place in the WCCN. NL-S is 10-1 and Sauk Centre is 12-3 overall.

The Pierz Pioneers improved to 12-3 overall with a 3-1 non-conference win at Sauk Rapids (5-5), a match that was profiled in today's St.Cloud Times. The Pioneers apparently have designs on making the Class AA state tournament - they reside in Section 6AA, which is loaded with tough teams from Sauk Centre, NL-S, St.Cloud Cathedral, Annandale, and Rocori. Their toughest competition for the Sub-Section 6AA-North crown is Sauk Centre. The south half of 6AA has NL-S, Annandale, and Rocori all vying for the #1 playoff seed.
