Volleyball preview for the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Lakers

The Lakers are coached by second-year head coach Christin LaMott.

Last year the Lakers went 11-10 overall, also 3-4 in the CMC. They return three starters from 2008: Maggie Horstmann, Taylor Williams, and Sharayh Clos.

Horstmann, Clos, and Christine Bobrowske serve as team captains.

Regarding the Lakers' chances in the CMC this fall, LaMott said, “We are looking to compete for the conference title, B-B-E is the favorite.”

In Section 6AA, state-ranked New London-Spicer, St. Cloud Cathedral, and Rocori seem to be the favorites.

Team goals & expectations are “Come to play all the time,” LaMott said. “Compete in every game, and grow as a team.”
