The Jaguars wrap up the 2009 season with a 2-7 overall record, falling in the Section 4A quarterfinals. They led 10-7 in the third quarter before the Bulldogs scored a game-winning touchdown. A scoreless fourth quarter played out in a very thrilling playoff game.

The seniors on the team should be proud of the season they had, standing tall against some of the best AA teams in the state. Five CMC teams (Holdingford, EV-W, Maple Lake, Pierz, and HL-W-W) won first-round games, I think that's the most playoff opening wins by the Central Minnesota Conference ever.

Not only that, but all five CMC teams have a shot at making the section titles in Sections 6AA, 5AA, and 4AA. If that happens, HL-W-W and Maple Lake would face eachother again, and Holdingford and Pierz would also battle it out for a state tournament berth.

LP/HT improves to 6-3 overall with their win over B-B-E. They will take on top-seeded St.Bernard's on Saturday night at 7pm at Hamline University.

More will follow on Thursday regarding area playoff action in Prep Football. There were no real upsets, for the most part top seeds handled the 5-8 seeds without any close calls.
