Jaguars Boys Basketball hits the 80s again, defeats Benson 84-66 - Girls Hoops loses 81-35

The Jaguars boys basketball team improved to 7-2 on the season with an 84-66 whipping of the Benson Braves tonight. The Braves, who are 1-2 in the West Central South Conference, fall to 4-6 with the loss. The Jaguars buried the Braves in a deep 38-23 hole in the first half, then outscored the hosts in a 46-43 shootout in the final period.
Up next for the boys basketball team: Tomorrow night at home against Class AA Osakis. The Silverstreaks are 6-2 and tough as nails - it will be a battle. The Jaguars will be playing for pride but also want to keep winning to maintain a shot at taking a number one playoff seed in Sub-Section 6A-South.
In Jaguars girls basketball action, final score out of northern Douglas County: Parkers Prairie 81, B-B-E 35. The Panthers, who are in Sub-Section 6A-South with the Jaguars, remain undefeated at 10-0 and appear unstoppable as they've been tearing up the competition this season. They've held eight teams below 38 points and three under 30. Shyan Kuefler led the Jaguars with seven points; as the team, they made only 13 field goals on the night.
Up next for the girls basketball team: a road trip to Holdingford to face the 5-6 Huskers in a Central Minnesota Conference battle. The Huskers are 1-2 in the CMC, having defeated Pierz last Thursday while losing to Kimball Area and Rockford in December.
