Still don't believe it - Battle Lake girls basketball shocks Parkers Prairie, 54-53 final score - Jaguars girls basketball loses to Pierz

I still don't believe it and I need to hear it from a different source before I do believe it, but apparently tonight at Battle Lake, the host Battler girls basketball team tagged Parkers Prairie with their first loss of the season.

The Panthers, who are ranked number one in the latest Class A poll, fall to 11-1. Battle Lake improves to 6-4 overall and pulls into a first-place tie with the Panthers in the Little Eight Conference with a 4-1 league record.

In a home game tonight, the Jaguars girls basketball team fell to Pierz by a 60-52 score in a Central Minnesota Conference game. The Jaguars (1-9) host Paynesville on Monday night in a non-conference game. Pierz improves to 7-6 overall with the win and 3-2 in the CMC.

The Jaguars, who played only seven players in the game, built a 30-21 lead at halftime. The visiting Pioneers bombed without mercy from long range in the first two minutes of the second half, though, draining four three-point shots to regain control.
