Area girls basketball section final results

**Here are some other scores from tonight's section championship girls basketball games around central/southwestern Minnesota:

Section 2A championship:
Buffalo Lake-Hector 53, Granada-Huntley-East Chain 44
The Mustangs led 23-18 at halftime, then fell behind 30-23 right away in the second half. They recovered nicely, though, and hit five-of-six on free throws in the final 35 seconds to secure their first-ever State trip in girls basketball at BL-H. Incredibly, BL-H was only 3-22 two seasons ago!

Section 5A championship:
Barnum 82, Sebeka 37

Section 6A championship:
Parkers Prairie 66, New York Mills 47 (Sari Noga had over 30 points)

Section 5AA championship:
Watertown-Mayer 49, Eden Valley-Watkins 43

Section 6AA championship:
Sauk Centre 59, Staples-Motley 44
The Mainstreeters cruised out to a 16-0 lead at Halenbeck Hall and never looked back. After leading 30-11 at halftime, the Mainstreeters battled hard as the Cardinals made some rallies, at one time closing the gap to 50-38 with 3:26 on the clock.

Strong free throw shooting down the stretch sealed the win for Sauk Centre, as they won their first-ever section championship in girls basketball.
