Henning started the season with a close 48-47 win over Underwood, ending up 2-2 four games into the season. Then they hit a six-game losing streak, which was highlighted by losses to some of the toughest competition in western Minnesota that included Park Christian, Bertha-Hewitt, and Barnesville. After that, they went 8-6 to finish the regular season with a 10-14 overall record, including 5-7 (5th) in the seven-team Park Region Conference. The PRC includes the state-tournament caliber teams of Sebeka and Bertha-Hewitt.

Make no bones about it, Henning will be tough and the Jaguars will have to be on their toes in order to avoid the upset.

Henning finished the 2008-2009 season 14-11 overall, including a 1-1 record in post season play. They were 7-5 in the Park Region Conference, good for third place behind co-champions Sebeka and Bertha-Hewitt.

Last year's 14-11 season was Henning's first winning season since 2002-2003, when they finished 15-10 overall.
