Jaguars girls tennis goes 1-2 at the Minnewaska Quad today

The Jaguars girls tennis team defeated Parkers Prairie with a convincing 6-1 result today while dropping two close matches against Montevideo and the host Lakers.

The bright spot of the day was the number two doubles team of Mattea Eckstein and Nicole Dokken, who went 3-0.

Update at 8:00pm...The Jaguars raised their overall record to 3-3 going into a dual meet at Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta tomorrow. The match will take place at the Morris Area high school tennis courts on the southeast corner of town.

Minnewaska girls tennis quadrangular results:
B-B-E 6, Parkers Prairie 1
Montevideo 7, Parkers Prairie 0
Minnewaska Area 4, Parkers Prairie 3
Montevideo 4, B-B-E 3
Montevideo 7, Parkers Prairie 0
Montevideo 5, Minnewaska Area 2
Minnewaska Area 5, B-B-E 2

My prediction after seeing how they fared today...by the end of September the Jaguars will have broken the school record for team wins in a season. That record was set in 2007 at 10-14 in Coach Westrom's first year at the helm of the program.

Next Monday, the Jaguars travel to Benson to participate in the Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg triangular that includes the host Fighting Braves as well as MACCRAY/Renville County West. That Tri begins at 3:00pm at the Benson High School tennis courts.
