Friday Night Lights Part II - Jaguars Football drops CMC opener 29-14 to Holdingford under wet conditions

Back in Belgrade, the Jaguars Football team lost 29-14 to visiting Holdingford after staging a fourth quarter comeback that fell short. They trailed 14-0 at halftime.

The Jaguars (1-1) will travel to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in Week 3, facing the 0-2 Lakers who will be very hungry for their first win. HL-W-W lost in Week 1 to host Norwood-Young America 21-6 and then to Pierz tonight 14-0. NY-A and Pierz are both 2-0.

Their game with the Jaguars will be the Lakers' home opener at their nearly-new football stadium at their nearly-new 9th-12th grade high school, located about three miles south of Howard Lake on Wright County #6. More information on the Lakers will be posted sometime next week.

Here's action from late in the first half, showing what Holdingford did right on offense - run, run, and run some more. Their star running back, senior Victor Lumley, is shown making a big gain.

Another clip from late in the first half, with the Jaguars playing defense.

It was a rough night for this area in football, with the following teams all losing on their home fields: Paynesville, B-B-E, Sauk Centre, Willmar, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, Osakis.

More will follow on Saturday morning. I've got loads of video clips from both the Woodbury volleyball match, the Jaguars football game, and the football halftime entertainment - the Jaguar elementary football team had an intra-squad scrimmage.
