It's a very successful night in Jaguar Country - Tennis improves to 2-0 in the Prairie Conference while Volleyball sweeps rival New London-Spicer

Oh, boy, those NL-S blockers don't stand a chance against that attack...

The Jaguars put up an impressive block tonight against the Wildcats.

Below, the Jaguars finish off the Wildcats in game two of tonight's home volleyball match by a 25-14 score.

Tonight on the home tennis courts at the High School athletic complex, the Jaguars girls tennis team picked up a nice 5-2 win over Parkers Prairie in a Prairie Conference match.

The Jaguars improve to 6-10 overall and 2-0 in the Prairie. The Panthers fall to 2-11 overall.

A quick note about the girls tennis team, they will not be at the Prairie Conference tournament this weekend. The tournament was planned well after the schedule was set for B-B-E earlier this season.

Up next for Jaguars girls tennis: a short drive up to Osakis on Thursday to face the pre-season favorite Silverstreaks in a Prairie Conference dual match. Osakis is 11-0 in duals thus far, including a 6-1 win over New York Mills in a conference match held today.

Later in the evening tonight, the Jaguars volleyball team swept neighboring rival New London-Spicer to the delight of a packed home crowd. The Jaguars improved to 9-2 overall with the sweep.

Up next for Jaguars volleyball: a home match against Rockford in CMC action this week Thursday. It will also be Parents' Night for the team. A nice gesture, because let's face it - our athletic programs would not exist without the parents' support.

I also have to add - it never gets old watching us beat NL-S!

Area volleyball scores tonight:
Upsala 3, Kimball Area 0
Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 3, Howard Lake-Wavelry-Winsted 2
BOLD 3, Redwood Valley 2
Canby 3, Benson 0
Holdingford 3, Royalton 0

Area girls tennis results:
LQPV/DB 5, Minnewaska 2
Pipestone 4, MACCRAY 3
Benson/K-M-S 4, Melrose 3
Montevideo 7, Morris/CA 0

With the Benson/K-M-S win over Melrose tonight, the Fighting Braves have all but locked up the #1 seed for the Sub-Section 5A-West playoffs. They defeated NL-S early in the season. NL-S and Melrose face off this week Thursday, in a match that will probably determine who will be the #2 seed.
