So, right wing, where are your daggers pointed now? - regarding the recent decision that mediated teacher settlements are not for public discourse

Below are my thoughts regarding the story in today's St.Cloud Times, titled "Details of mediated teacher settlements are not for public review, state rules"

The direct link is: http://www.sctimes.com/article/20100928/NEWS01/109280042/Details-of-mediated-teacher-settlements-are-not-for-public-review--state-rules

In the story, you will read that the St.Cloud Times was pushing for release of a mediated teacher settlement in the recent negotiations between the St.Cloud School District and the teachers union.

What gets under my skin is how the right wing (Republicans) like to yell and scream how evil the media is in our country. How they're just a tool of the left, a mouth piece for the Democrats.

Where, oh where, Republicans, are your daggers pointed now? Are you still throwing rocks at the St.Cloud Times for their efforts discussed in this story?

Tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday) Tom Emmer has campaign stops planned in Willmar, Morris, and Alexandria. Countless times during his campaign, he has taken shots at the media because they were doing their job. They were reporting what he was saying and to his own fault, what he was saying was either not popular or it was factually incorrect. Damn that liberal media for pointing out when he is lying.

I'll be at his stop in Alexandria, despite his hatred of the media.

It gets old after awhile, when those of us working in the media put in 60-70 hour weeks on a regular basis, promoting what's going on in our area and doing all we can to tell the good news of our small towns, and all we get in return is a lot of "damn that liberal media, slanted journalism, worthless reporters, biased writing" from the Republican party.

If they think we journalists are doing such a terrible job at it, why don't they sign up for open media positions when they're available? I don't see Republicans beating down the door wanting to get into the newspaper business. What gives?
