Hancock Owls girls basketball pulls off an improbable 58-54 win over Goodhue in state quarters

Hancock overcame a 10-point deficit and 27 turnovers to stun No. 1-ranked Goodhue 58-54 in the Class A state girls basketball quarterfinals on Thursday at Williams Arena.

Hancock (27-2) will play either Minneota or Maranatha Christian Academy at noon tomorrow in the semifinals at Target Center.

Kendra Schmidgall led the Owls' second-half charge with 15 of her 19 points. Illissa Koehl also had 19 points for Hancock.

Goodhue led 34-27 at halftime, but Hanock went on 17-4 run to start the second half.
