I'm so pumped for this game, I can hardly stand it!

Less than 35 hours from now, the tip off will take place for the Section 6A championship game between the B-B-E Jaguars boys basketball team and the Norman County East Eagles.

We had over 1,000 fans - and possibly as many as 1,200 fans - from B-B-E alone at the sub-section championship game on Tuesday night in Morris.

Tip off on Friday night at Jim Gremmels Court on the campus of the University of Minnesota-Morris is at 7:00pm. I would LOVE to see a packed crowd on the B-B-E side of the gymnasium. Let's have a crowd that acts as the sixth man for the team on the court!

Noteworthy: no more than five of the top 10 teams in the final Class A coaches poll of the season will make it to the state tournament. The tourney field will include at least three un-ranked teams.

The school district of Norman County East is located about 45 minutes northwest of Moorhead (as the crow flies), with its high school in the small town of Twin Valley, MN. It is a 177 mile trip to drive from the B-B-E high school up to Norman County East.

I just had the neatest conversation with a lady named Tina, the city clerk of Twin Valley. I gleaned the following information about their community. Twin Valley has a population of approximately 773. Quite close to Belgrade's 750! The consolidated school of Norman County East includes Twin Valley, the city of Gary (~200 people) located 8 miles north of Twin Valley, and a small village called Flom, located 12 miles southeast of Twin Valley. Norman County East was consolidated in 1992. Their old junior high building burned down in 1995. Currently, they have a 7-12 building in Twin Valley that is a remodeled structure of their old elementary school - including some newer additions. Their K-6 elementary school is located in Gary. Quite similar in that respect to B-B-E, which operates an elementary in Brooten and a high school in Belgrade.

Norman County East will be represented on the radio by KRJB (106.5) in Ada, MN. Ironically, the Jaguars will also be aired 106.5 FM (The Train), out of the Norway Lake/Sunburg area.

Norman County East, Norman County West (Halstad, MN), and Ada-Borup all flank the northern border of Section 6A. B-B-E, Hancock, and Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley flank the southern border.
