Patrick Rooney wins 'State' wrestling opener!

The Class A state tournament opener results for the three B-B-E Jaguar wrestlers in action today at the Xcel Energy Center are as follows:
120 pounds: Tyler Tensen lost 2-1.
126 pounds: Ross Rath lost 9-0.
170 pounds: Patrick Rooney won 12-1.

Action continues tonight with the quarterfinal and wrestleback matches.

Other information...the fate of Tensen and Rath at the state tournament won't be decided until the quarterfinal matches are completed tonight. I'll actually be back at the boys' basketball game, but I'll be keeping tabs on how things turn out tonight and get updates posted as soon as possible.

There's a chance all three will get into tomorrow's consolation or semifinal action. Stay tuned!
