B-B-E wrestlers pummels SC-Melrose, Boys' basketball wins CMC opener

With the final weights yet to be wrestled, the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team has a commanding 29-6 lead over Sauk Centre-Melrose in a non-conference dual at SCHS. Update: the Jaguars named the score in a huge win over SC-M and decided to win 54-9; they won 10 of the 12 contested matches and picked up 12 points from SC-M forfeits. In a thriller at heavyweight, freshmen Ben Feuerhake won a 3-2 decision over SC-M sophomore Charlie Barhorst.

In the second half of the Central Minnesota Conference boys' basketball opener, the B-B-E Jaguars lead 41-29 over visiting Eden Valley-Watkins. Final: B-B-E 63, EV-W 47.

With under 8 minutes left in the game, Melrose Area has an 80-53 lead over visiting New London-Spicer in a non-conference boys' basketball game. Final: Melrose Area 96, NL-S 74. Scottie Stone had 26 points, with Isaac Sawyer putting up 23 points to lead the undefeated Dutchmen.
