#1 B-B-E vs. #1 Melrose Area!
I just dug back in my memory banks and realized this is probably the most-hyped up regular season boys' basketball game that B-B-E has ever been involved in.
It reminds me of the talk about when B-B-E was set to host Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted in mid-January of 2002. Both teams were highly ranked in Class A that season and entered the contest undefeated in the Central Minnesota Conference. The Jaguars were 13-0 when that game took place and hosted the Lakers in front of a packed crowd of over 800 fans.
HL-W-W won 81-64 after pulling away from the Jaguars late in the second half.
The top of the final 2001-2001 CMC standings showed:
HL-W-W (13-1)
B-B-E (12-2)

Time for a half-day long vacation. I'll be back posting on Thursday. I hope to see most if not all of the central-Minnesota-dwelling readers of this website at Melrose high school tomorrow night!!!
**Breaking news...alright I admit, it's hard to stay off of the computer during this exciting week...I just got the new state rankings from Minnesota Basketball News. As expected, Melrose Area moved from #2 last week to #1 this week. So...there you have it! It's #1 vs. #1 tomorrow night in Melrose.
Noteworthy: Upsala (15-0) climbed to #4 in Class A.
While I've got your attention, here's the link to a helpful guideline on how other countries treat drunk drivers...how we do it in the U.S. is an utterly shameful joke:
