Great start for the Jaguars volleyball team

In the opening match of the Willmar Cardinal Classic tournament this morning, the Jaguars volleyball team defeated a very good Central Minnesota Christian-Prinsburg team in straight sets. It's only the 3rd loss of the year for the Bluejays, a top team in the Camden Conference.

At about 10:00am the Jaguars squared off with Benson.

**Update: the Jaguars beat Benson in two sets (25-22, 25-18) for a 2-0 start today.

Here's the Sauk Centre Herald photo gallery from last night's win for our beloved Jaguars football team on Rockford's Homecoming night. It's got somewhere around 265 photos.

Here's some notes about Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity's football team. They lost in big upset fashion last night to an average United South Central Rebels team.

Heading into last night's game, United South Central was 1-3 with their only win coming over an 0-4 Mankato Loyolta team in Week 3. In Week 2, USC lost 40-0 to Blooming Prairie, a team that LP/HT beat in Week 3 by a 30-15 score.

LP/HT will likely win out heading into playoffs. In Week 6 they play a 1-4 St. Clair team, and their last two opponents are a combined 0-9. A 5-3 record for LP/HT will likely put them at a #4 or #5 seed. That really hinges on what Minneapolis North does the rest of the way.

That's all for the afternoon...time to head to the University of Minnesota-Morris for Homecoming!

Volleyball updates will trickle in later.

**Update: the Jaguars pounded on the Willmar Cardinals in a 25-12, 25-13 win...and they're a AAA school! Coming into the tournament, the Cardinals were 7-6 overall and 4-4 (4th) in the Central Lakes Conference.

**Update: the Jaguars split with Sauk Rapids-Rice 16-25, 25-18 but got the win on points.

Awaiting further news.
