Voss, Feuerhake win titles - Jaguars take 4th

Ben Feuerhake stands with the heavyweight scorecard after taking first place in that division tonight.
Kaleb Voss shown during his 22-7 technical fall win during the 113-pound semifinals tonight against Ottertail Central's Alex Erlandson.

Kaleb Voss won the 113 pound title tonight, while Ben Feurhake took first place in the heavyweight division. My records show that it's the first tournament championship titles earned by either wrestler. Great job! As a team, the Jaguar wrestlers placed fourth with 88.5 team points. They had two firsts, two seconds and two fourth place wrestlers.

Josey Tensen and Adam Jaeger lost at 120 and 126 pounds in their title matches.

Adam Jaeger is shown ready to attack in the 126-pound semifinals tonight against K-M-S's Casey Thorson, a senior who entered the match with a 10-7 record. Jaeger is an 8th grader.
Final team standings tonight:
1st K-M-S 177 - 2nd Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 175 - 3rd Becker 130.5 - 4th B-B-E 88.5 - 5th Ottertail Central 77 - 6th Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 62 - 7th Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 57. The Fighting Saints had four wrestlers take first place.

Here's the final seconds of a wrestleback match with Colby Schramel at 138 pounds...the win got him into the third-place match in that division:

At Eden Valley tonight, the Jaguars boys' basketball team has a 16 to 3 lead with 12:22 remaining in the first half. With 6 minutes to go, the Jaguars are ahead 28 to 9 over the Eagles.

The roads are getting bad out there by the way! It's around 25-26 degrees in Belgrade and raining. Spread the word.

I am having no luck with the BBE high school Wi-Fi. Aarrgghh!!!! I've got plenty to post but can't do much solely on my Smartphone.

The Jaguars boys' basketball team won 77-47 at Eden Valley-Watkins (7-4, 2-2) to stay undefeated (4-0) in the Central Minnesota Conference. Their next game is at home next Tuesday against Melrose Area. It's just the second home game of the season for the 9-1 Jaguars. Two noteworthy scores are below from the CMC, with a 1-6 Maple Lake team going to Kimball Area and earning a 69-63 win over the Cubs.

A programming note: I've seen mass confusion in the last couple of weeks posted on Facebook regarding radio coverage of our Jaguars this season. The next game covered by 106.5 FM the Train of Norway Lake-Sunburg will be next Saturday, January 11 when the Jaguars boys' basketball team travels to Clara City to face the MACCRAY Wolverines. Bill Dean and Don Luekam with the Train will also cover the Kimball boys' basketball game on January 17 in Kimball. Smooth Magic 107's next game called by D-Mac is the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted game (boys) at home on January 23. D-Mac also has the boys'/girls' doubleheader at the B-B-E high school against Browerville on Saturday, January 25 and the Rockford wrestling meet at home on January 31.
