Terrific concert

Shown is part of the combined 7-12 band and choir performance that put the bookend on tonight's concert.

The senior high choir performing.

First of all, THANK YOU for all the enthusiasm shown by the B-B-E community for our band and choir. Both groups have first-year teachers, and it is important that we do our best to support the programs in any way possible. The reviews I heard were unanimous in agreement that tonight's B-B-E band and choir Christmas concert was a huge success. The band members and choir singers did an outstanding job! To top it off, the crowd was packed!

Here's the last 30 seconds of the concert, featuring a joint band/choir performance of all 7-12 grade students:

After the concert I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Mrs. Harp, B-B-E's former choir director who retired in 2007. She provided piano accompaniment for the choir.

I also saw Rocky from Smooth Magic 107 FM in Glenwood sitting in the front row of the bleachers. He was recording the entire concert for playback on a future date on 107.1 FM. Once I find out when that will be, it will be posted here. **The B-B-E concert will air on Smooth Magic 107 FM at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22.

Work called at 4:57 p.m. and blew up my whole evening. It was a near total disaster, and I was lucky to catch about the last 10 minutes of the 41-minute concert. After not missing a single concert event at B-B-E in recent years, in the past two weeks I've managed to miss one concert altogether due to a city council meeting (November 24) and then about 80 percent of tonight's concert due to work. Life's good at throwing curve balls, isn't it?
