Road woes

The B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team dropped its second road game in a row when poor free-throw shooting cost them a win at third-place Maple Lake on Monday night. After sitting in a 22-22 tie at halftime, the Irish (12-7, 7-4) outscored the Jaguars 26-21 in the second half to win 48-43 in a Central Minnesota Conference contest. Poor two-point shooting also contributed heavily to the loss: the Jaguars made just eight of 31 shots from inside the arc, while they were 12-of-22 at the line. On threes, the Jaguars shot a solid 31 percent (5-of-16) with Jenna Dingmann making three of nine three-point attempts and Morgan Gronli making good on two of three tries beyond the arc.

Next: the Jaguars (16-6, 7-3 CMC) host Pierz (6-14) on Thursday this week.
