Staying alive

The B-B-E junior Legion baseball team won 6-1 last night against New London-Spicer in an elimination playoff game. A 10 to three advantage in hits was the big difference in the game. Will VanBeck (IP-4 2/3) was the winning pitcher.

The Jaguars play again on Friday night in another elimination game. Details TBA.

**Update: the No. 4-seeded Jaguars will have a rematch with No. 5-seeded Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Friday, August 2. The two teams square off at 5 p.m. at Minnewaska Area. The winner moves on, and the loser is done. If the Jaguars win, they play again that same night at Minnewaska at 7 p.m. against top-seeded Starbuck.

Starbuck lost in the winner's bracket final by a 9-4 score to No. 2-seeded Morris on Tuesday.
