Border battle
At halftime, the B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team is leading Sauk Centre 25-23.
With seven minutes to go, the Jaguars have a 41-38 lead. They've held an eight-point lead on two occasions earlier in the second half.
Final: B-B-E 67, Sauk Centre 46. Jackson Peter led the Jaguars with 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Mainstreeters fall to 5-7 overall with their third loss in a row. Next: the Jaguars (5-7) host Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (7-4, 2-1) next Tuesday in a Central Minnesota Conference game.

At Maple Lake tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team won their third game in a row. The final score was 53-35; they led 26-18 at halftime. The Jaguars improve to 6-6 overall and 4-2 in the Central Minnesota Conference. Next: a huge, huge conference game at Holdingford (12-1, 4-1) next Tuesday.
At Paynesville tonight, the No. 4-ranked B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team took first place. Senior Canon Swanson earned his 200th career win, a HUGE milestone. Congratulations! He claimed the 145-pound title tonight by defeating Holdingford's James Welle by fall (1:54) in the championship.
Walker Bents, Ryan Jensen, Canon Swanson, Dylan Kampsen and Michael Doubek all won individual titles for the Jaguars. Earning runner-up finishes were Tyler Jensen, Blaine Fischer and Mark Jenniges. Next: the Jaguars (7-0) put their undefeated dual meet record on the line at Sauk Centre next Thursday, January 16. The Sauk Centre-Melrose team will be hosting a triangular that also includes No. 3-ranked Minnewaska Area (13-1).
