Quite a night coming on Tuesday

A huge border battle of undefeated teams is coming this week Tuesday when the Paynesville Bulldogs come to town to face our B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team. Both teams are 3-0 overall, and both teams have designs on winning the Central Minnesota Conference title. The Bulldogs have ran with a high-octane offense so far this season that's averaged 72 points a game to this point.

The game will be live streamed by the B-B-E Broadcasting team. I'll get that video player posted tomorrow. The general link to the B-B-E Broadcasting team is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkh877XG0VK6CZXD7mPL95A.

Here's a short link to a COVID-19 story at the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper website, the latest data we have for our area: https://bit.ly/2MfM4DT.

In wrestling news...
I saw that the January 20 Guillotine state rankings were released last week, and I missed that until Monday morning (the 25th). It shows that Minnewaska Area has climbed to No. 4 from their initial spot at No. 5 in the January 10 preseason rankings.

Also, Minneota climbed to No. 6, two spots higher than where they were in the January 10 state poll. The Vikings (4-2) have five wrestlers ranked in the Top 10 of their respective weight classes. They were defeated on Friday night at our home triangular by a 49-13 score to LPGE/Browerville.

The B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team remains at No. 3 in the Top 10 rankings. Kimball Area, 4-0 in duals so far, remains at No. 9.

Another exciting piece of news to share: the Jaguars now have seven wrestlers ranked in the Top 10 of their respective weight classes!

And, I'll share this again, but here's a question with an exciting answer: how many lead changes did we have on Friday night in the wrestling match against LPGE/Browerville? The answer is eight. Eight! Yes, the match had eight lead changes. The lead changed hands after each of the final four weights were completed. Crazy.

More to come.
