Early in the summer of 1988, the initial name for the new athletic pairing between Belgrade-Elrosa and Brooten was "Minnesota Central" - I didn't see exactly how that name came about, but there was quite an outcry about it. A few weeks later, the joint school boards selected "Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa" as the name of the pairing. The name stuck...and since that time we've been the B-B-E Jaguars.
