Exciting night of wrestling, and a blowout basketball win
Lots to catch up on!
At Pine River-Backus tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team thrashed a very good PR-B Tigers squad by a 77-58 score. A big factor in the win was 60 percent field goal shooting, including a red-hot 65 percent shooting percentage inside the arc. Abby Berge lit up the court with 37 points, including 23 in the first half. The Jaguars, who are now 2-0 overall, have scored 147 points in just two games.
At their home Early Invite to start their season, the No. 2-ranked B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team took second place behind a very strong Class 3A Willmar team. The Cardinals had 230 points to 190 for the Jaguars, while a vastly improved New London-Spicer had 146 points for third place.
Top finishers for the Jaguars by weight:
132 - Wyatt Engen finished in second place.
138 - Walker Bents took first place.
145 - Tanner Viessman took second place.
152 - Blaine Fischer took first place.

No word yet on the B-B-E/Paynesville Pirouettes dance team, who opened their season at Minnewaska tonight. They are at Rocori tomorrow afternoon.
