B-B-E speech results from STMA
The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa speech team found a great deal of success at the St. Michael-Albertville invitational on Saturday. Head coach Rachel Clark was thrilled about how her speakers performed in what was a very large meet.
Top finishers for B-B-E are as follows:Aynsley Preble - fourth place in extemporaneous reading
Billy Tensen - first place in the merit finals for informative
Jeffrey Cihlar - first place in the honor finals for extemporaneous speaking
Samantha Baker - sixth place in prose
Kara Wold - honorable mention in creative expression
To give an idea of how big the meet was, Jeffrey Cihlar reported that normally his extemporaneous speaking category brings eight to 10 competitors per meet. At STMA, the extemp speaking included 22 competitors.
On Saturday, February 5, the B-B-E speech team traveled to Minnewaska Area. Three speakers earned top-three finishes:
Kara Wold - third in creative expression
Aynsley Preble - third in extemporaneous reading
Jeffrey Cihlar - first place in extemporaneous speaking
