STATE TOURNAMENT UPDATES: ROUND ONE (VIDEO added)

Here's where I'll post state tournament updates for the quarterfinals against Dover-Eyota. The second match is at 1 p.m. (win or lose in round one)...! Remember: you can watch the action at Bucky's Bar in Elrosa if you can't be here in person. The B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team is as ready as any team is for the state tournament.

While you're waiting, you can check out the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper winter sports photo galleries here: https://bonanzavalley.smugmug.com/BBE-Jaguar-winter-sports-21-22.

**Here's video taken when the Jaguars took the mat before the state quarterfinal match:

UPDATES:
106: Louie Tensen lost a heartbreaking 4-2 decision in the first overtime period.

**After 120, the team score is tied 6-6.

**After 126, the Jaguars are ahead 10-6.

It's 12 p.m., and we're neck deep in the 145 pound match with Tyler Jensen. The team score is 16-9. This has been a battle so far.

**Through 152, the Jaguars have a 16-15 lead over the Eagles.

**Through 195, the Eagles are ahead 24-23.

Final: Dover-Eyota 30, B-B-E 26. At heavyweight, the Eagles won by pin (2:22) to seal the victory. Junior Jackson Duellman accomplished the same feat he did in the Section 1A championship against Chatfield by winning his heavyweight match to hand his team the victory. In that section final two weekends ago, Duellman earned a takedown with just 13 seconds left in the third period to win a 5-3 decision and give Dover-Eyota a 33-30 dual win.

Today after 220 pounds, the Jaguars had a slim 26-24 lead after Ethan Spanier won a 2-1 decision against Tyler Mix.

The Jaguars wrestle again in the consolation semifinals at approximately 1:30 p.m. today.

Class 1A state quarterfinal match results today:
No. 3-seeded Royalton/Upsala 49, United North Central 16
No. 5-seeded West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville 34, No. 4-seeded Kimball Area 33
No. 1-seeded Jackson County Central 52, Maple River/United South Central 9

That's all for this blog post. I'll get a new one posted to include Round Two information.

THANK YOU to Paul Gruber Baling, Bonanza Valley State Bank and Coop's Corner for supporting this STATE tournament blog post!
