The Voice Winter Sports Show No. 10! (VIDEO)
After another wild, topsy-turvy week in Jaguar Country, I finally got another sports show recorded. We are living in the best of times! These are the best of times. Right now! Right here! I believe we should wake up every day in Jaguar Country with the most positive thoughts running through our minds while we make the absolute most out of the opportunities we have in front of us. This rings true whether we're talking about our school, our business community, our towns, our churches and every other aspect of our daily lives. "BEST OF TIMES! What a wonderful way to look at life.
Remember this and tell yourself this often: we are living in the best of times! We don't have to wait for this to come true. This is happening right now.

I am always overjoyed when I see or hear ways that we as a school and a community can create opportunities for our children to shine. Opportunities with which they can better themselves and improve their self-confidence and their overall outlook on their future. I see it EVERY DAY from my vantage point running our community newspaper and its sports department solely dedicated to the B-B-E Jaguars. This all plays into how we are living in the BEST OF TIMES here, right now!
In one of many projects that I'm working on, I have extra coverage coming for our B-B-E/Paynesville Pirouettes dance team. The Pirouettes competed at the Alexandria Invitational today. It is very exciting to hear that they are running with a JV and a varsity squad with their 13 team members. Head coach Katie Boie broke that news to me right before school was dismissed ahead of the Christmas break on December 21. The January 12 issue of The Voice will have more on this. Stay tuned!!
More to come. I am updating the basketball scoreboard on last night's blog post. That is almost complete.
Time for church! This is posted one week later...here's where you can take in the majority of worship service at Sunburg Free Lutheran church in Norway Lake Township. Leading worship is Pastor Ron Knutson, a 1958 Brooten high school graduate who grew up just a couple miles from my childhood family farm. **Sunday night late update: I've been busy tonight combing over the varsity schedules for dance, wrestling and the basketball teams to mesh everything together. It's nuts!! For example, the girls' basketball team starts the first of four straight three-game weeks this coming week. They have road games no Tuesday (Minnewaska) and Thursday (Royalton) before hosting A-C-GC on Friday night the 13th.
