Section Final Four wrestling!
Today is the big day for the Section 5A Final Four at Benson high school!
The No. 3-seeded B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team (18-5) takes on No. 2-seeded Canby (16-5) at 12:30 p.m. in the semifinals. The Jaguars have revenge on their minds after they lost 37-27 to the Lancers on January 27 at the Minneota Quad.

**Through 126, the Jaguars trail 10 to 9. At 120, Louie Tensen won by fall, sending the Jaguar fans into a frenzy.
Currently the Jaguars are ahead 16 to 13.
**Through 170, the Jaguars have a 22 to 19 lead. At 182, Carson Gilbert is ahead 5-2 in the second period.
*****Final score: B-B-E 40, Canby 19!!! In the other semifinal, KMS won 31--29 over Minneota.
**Against KMS, the Jaguars trail 16-12 through 132 pounds.
*After 145, the Jaguars are ahead 18-16 after Wyatt Engen won a 5-2 decision.
*Through 160, the Jaguars are trailing 22 to 18.
**The Jaguars are state-bound!! It's 33-25 after 220!! Ethan Spanier with a pin!!
Final: BBE 36, KMS 25. The Jaguars will wrestle at the state tournament on Thursday, March 2.
Now we set our sights on the individual section wrestling which is next Saturday, February 25 at Minnewaska High School.
****I will not be updating this blog until after 9:00 p.m. tonight as I drove from Benson back to Holdingford for the second time of the day for youth basketball. I got some pretty exciting wrestling footage at Benson, so I'm excited to post that later tonight!! GO JAGS!!
