Baseball defeats Fighting Saints
The B-B-E Jaguars baseball team earned a 5-3 win against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg tonight in a non-conference border battle. The error-riddled game, played in Sunburg, was up for grabs until the final out was recorded after the Jaguars (6-5 overall) scored 4 runs in the top of the sixth inning to erase a 2-1 deficit. K-M-S, who lost for just the second time this season, scored once in the bottom of the sixth before a scoreless seventh inning was recorded.
In Sub-Section 6A-South, the Jaguars and Fighting Saints are currently jockeying for the No. 2 playoff seed. Next: the Jaguars travel to Kingery Field in Atwater to face A-C-GC in a Central Minnesota Conference game on Thursday this week at 4:30 p.m.
At home in a non-conference game tonight, the B-B-E Jaguars fastpitch team lost 14-2 in six innings to Browerville. The Tigers, who are the second-ranked team in Sub-Section 6A-East, improved to 14-3 with the win. The Jaguars fall to 2-14 going into a doubleheader in Brooten this Thursday against Holdingford.
