This is incredible and exciting news to share! B-B-E has their third State-level Coach of the Year award.
The Minnesota State High School League coaches committee recently named their 2023 Coach of the Year awards by class. Head coach Chris Moscho of B-B-E, who just completed his 14th season leading the B-B-E Jaguar football program, was named Class 1A Coach of the Year. The Jaguars had a banner season on the gridiron with an 11-1 final record plus district and section championships. His first season as head coach at B-B-E was in 2010. Prior to that, he was defensive coordinator for the 2008 and 2009 Jaguar teams under former head coach Mike Richards. Moscho, a 2002 Melrose high school graduate, is a 4th/5th grade classroom teacher at B-B-E elementary, where he was hired in 2008.
In Class 2A, Adam Tri of Eden Valley-Watkins was Coach of the Year. In 9-man football, Shawn Klimek of Nevis was Coach of the Year.
Also at B-B-E, Hall of Fame Coach Dave Montbriand was named Class 1A Coach of the Year during his tenure. He was head coach from 1990 through 2005 and then 2008 through 2014. Montbriand's successor, Chris Anderson, was named Class 1A Coach of the Year after the 2022 season.
