GAME NIGHT! in Jaguar Country

A big game is on deck tonight for home fans in Jaguar Country, just as it was two nights ago. Instead of a section non-conference game, this one features a Central Minnesota Conference battle between our B-B-E Jaguars boys' basketball team and the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles. The C-squad game started at 4:45 p.m., and the JV and varsity games will follow.

This is a huge game for the Jaguars, who sit in 7th place in the CMC with a 2-6 record. The Eagles (5-12) are 3-5 in the CMC and in a tie for 5th place with Royalton a 3-5. B-B-E is 3-14 overall, and a win is badly needed as they are currently on a four-game skid. In the meeting of the teams back on December 20, the Jaguars blew a double-digit lead in the second half, and Caleb DeRose canned a buzzer-beating three-pointer that gave EV-W a 71-70 win. He is the grandson of Jim DeRose, former Belgrade and B-B-E band teacher (1983-2002).

Sidebar: Mr. DeRose is owner of Riverside Inn of Cold Spring, whose website is: https://www.riversideinncs.com. I spent the afternoon at Riverside with my wife today. You can read more about that excursion in next week's Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.

The varsity game will be aired on Smooth Magic 107 FM of Glenwood. They stream online, and you can listen to the game either at 107.1 FM on your radio dial or by clicking here: https://www.kmgk1071.com.

**Halftime: BBE 27, EVW 20.
