Wrestlers take Jaguar Invite! Girls' basketball wins third straight (VIDEOS)
They're back in business!
While they are still not at full strength in terms of their lineup, tonight on the home mats, the B-B-E Jaguars wrestling team won the Jaguar Invite by a slim 7.5 point margin. Winning individual titles were Noah Jensen (107), Brett DeRoo (160) and Carson Gilbert (215). Beyond those three, many other Jaguars turned in fine performances while earning top-four finishes. Earning third place finishes for the Jaguars were Jace Mueller (133), Louie Tensen (139), Andrew Spanier (172) and Hunter Laage (189). As huge as the three individual titles were, the four Jaguars who took third place played a huge role in the team coming out on top.

Here's a video from the 145-pound opener today in the auxiliary gymnasium:
I had a glaring error right away by saying Dylan Koob's opponent was from Royalton. I corrected myself eventually: the opponent is a Medford wrestler in the video. Dylan lost what was an exciting match in this first round by a 10-7 decision.

Shifting gears to basketball...
In a Central Minnesota Conference game on the road, the B-B-E Jaguars girls' basketball team used two halves of outstanding defense to defeat Eden Valley-Watkins 68-42. They now hold a 7-5 overall record.
How the first half developed...
The game's first 6 minutes were closely-contested, but Macey Roering drained a three-pointer with 12:10 left to break a 7-7 tie and start an 11-3 run. The Eagles cut it down to 18-14, but the Jaguars had an 8-0 run push the lead to double digits. The Jaguars went 3-of-4 at the free throw line in the last 30 seconds to forge a 31-20 halftime lead.
The No. 7-ranked (Minnesota Basketball News) Jaguars were led by Adley Hagen's career high of 25 points. Bree Thieschafer was also in double figures with 13 points. From the floor, the Jaguars shot 35 percent.
B-B-E's JV girls' basketball team earned a thrilling 36-33 overtime win against the Eagles after trailing by as much as 10 points late in the second half. The score after regulation play was 33-33, and a layup in the closing seconds of overtime by freshman Jaylee Jensen salted the game in favor of the visitors. In the C-squad game tonight, the Class of 2029 eighth grade Jaguars also won in thrilling fashion with a final score of 34-33.
