Jaguars Volleyball and Girls Tennis Wins Tonight -- Tennis Raises Record to 10-9 Overall

Today in prep girls tennis action, the Jaguars girls tennis team won their 10th overall meet of the season, in a 4-3 win at West Central Area (at the Knights' high school in Barrett). Their 10-9 overall record is the best ever at B-B-E for girls tennis, and with more wins possible on their season, there is no telling how well the season will end up.

This week the girls tennis team travels to Parkers Prairie on Thursday for a rematch with the Panthers, who nipped the Jaguars 4-3 at the Minnewaska Triangular on August 31.

In prep volleyball action, the Jaguars were victorious via a 3-0 sweep at Hancock, raising their record to 6-1 on the young season. The B- and C-teams were also winners, as the underclassmen squads remain undefeated on the year at 3-0 apiece.

In probably the biggest match of the season, the volleyball team will next travel on Thursday to Maple Lake to face the three-time CMC champion Irish. The Jaguars shared the CMC title in 2006 with the Irish, as both went 6-1 in conference play.

On Saturday the volleyball team takes part in the Sauk Rapids Invitational. It will be the a very tough tournament that includes Albany, St.Cloud Cathedral, Melrose Area, Sauk Centre, Annandale, Rogers, Mora, Little Falls, Apollo, Onamia, Monticello and Dassel-Cokato.

As tough as the tournament will be, the Jaguars have a good shot of at least advancing to the championship round, and even coming out as Champions for their second tournament of the season.

More to follow regarding other Jaguars action this week.
