Furious Comeback Falls Short in Bethel Showcase Championship, Jaguars Volleyball Takes Runner-Up Trophy
The Jaguars Volleyball team played with a jekyl-and-hyde personality in the championship match against Southwest Christian (Chaska) this afternoon. After dropping game one 20-25, the Jaguars played with their tails between their legs while falling behind 1-6, 4-10, and 8-18 before mounting a rally to tie the game at 24-24. Southwest Christian would win game two 26-24. They are now 9-0 on the season, picking up five wins in the past 2 days after going 4-0 in other action earlier this season. Southwest began the year ranked #7 in Class A, and they entered the match ranked #8, while the Jaguars were ranked #5 in Class A coming into the tournament.
This tournament championship match was the culmination of both teams going 4-0 in their other matches of the tournament. With the loss, the Jaguars record is now 12-1.
On Sunday I'll be busy adding tennis, volleyball, and football pictures to the Sauk Herald photo gallery.
