Tuesday Night, Jaguars Football Hosts "Dangerous" Lakeview Lakers Team at 7:00 -- Bundle Up & Bring Everyone You Can to Cheer Our Jaguars to Victory!

An action shot from the Monday session of football practice, with the JV offense going against the Varsity defense.

The Jaguars football team will start a "one-game-at-a-time" approach to the Section 5A playoffs when they take on a dangerous, talented Lakeview Lakers team at 7:00 on the high school sports complex stadium.

The Lakers opened their season with a 19-0 shutout win over Holdingford, and they finished the season 5-3. They are led by senior quarterback Dakota Fiene, who moved into the quarterback position for the first time this year. He's rushed for over 1,000 yards this season, and he'll keep the Jaguars' defense busy all night long. The Marshall Independent reported that Fiene has been scouted by Augustana (S.D.), Winona State, as well as Division I South Dakota State University.

I expect a close battle and the Jaguars must limit their penalties, as well as take care of the ball. Their most successful games this season came when they committed no lost fumbles and 3 to 4 penalties.

I just talked to the Minneota head coach, Chad Johnston, and I learned that the time for the semi-final game is still up in the air. The comment was made that some students have ACT exams on Saturday mornings, so a 3:00 game might make the schedule tight.

**Tuesday afternoon update: The semi-final game would be on Saturday at 3:00 in Minneota, if the Jaguars beat Lakeview tonight.

Right now the semi-final is the last thing we need to worry about. The Jaguars have to get past Lakeview first.
