Jaguars boys basketball knocks down Kimball Area to win CMC title outright - Girls basketball game coming up

The Jaguars set a new school record for wins this afternoon, defeating Kimball Area 68-45 in an afternoon game at the high school. They will take a 22-4 record into playoffs, beginning next Thursday, March 12, at 7:00 against Holdingford.

The Cubs enter Section 5AA playoffs with an 8-16 overall record.

The Jaguars girls basketball team controlled the opening tip-off and scored right away tonight against NL-S. Emily Roelike scored from the corner to give the Jaguars the first score of the game.

With about 7 minutes gone, NL-S pounded on the Jaguars with a 15-0 run to go up 15-2. The Jaguars then went on an 8-0 run to cut the deficit to five, down 15-10. The Wildcats then took a 20-10 lead.

With just over 8:00 left to halftime, NL-S had a 22-12 lead.

At 7:00pm, going into halftime, the Jaguars trailed by the wide margin of 42-25. The Wildcats hit six first-half three-point shots.

Out west...Morris and Osakis are tied at 43-43 with 7:23 left in regulation.

In the second half, the Jaguars are fighting hard and cut the deficit down to single digits, down 48-39 with just over 7:00 left. They have rattled the Wildcats while turning up the intensity to keep their chances alive at a sub-section championship berth.

Final result out west: Osakis upset the top-seeded Morris Area Tigers 60-55.

The Jaguars played a great second half, but ultimately fell 50-39 to the Wildcats. NL-S scored only 8 second-half points.
